MUA Shimmer Highlighter & Matte Bronzer Review + Swatches!

I received my Superdrug order today and I couldn’t be more excited. A few days ago I ordered a few bits from MUA and Collection as the reviews on the website were AMAZING. Also, I haven’t really bought new make-up lately as I prefer to stick to my old favourites because I know they work well for me. However, there’s nothing more exciting than new make-up. So I thought I would put these two products to the test.

The first thing I tried was the MUA Bronzed Perfection Matte Bronzer in the shade ‘Sunset Tan‘. It claims to add warmth and a soft natural glow, which all sounded pretty good to me! I always struggle with bronzers as I’ve got super pale skin and most bronzers tend to look orange on me, making me look like an Oopma Loompa.

First impressions: it looks gorgeous. The pattern on the bronzer makes it look more expensive than it actually is (it only costs £4). When I swatched it before trying it (see photos at the end of the blog post), it seemed quite creamy and not at all orange (YAY!). I was impressed enough to FINALLY try it on my face and that’s when I knew it was going to be my absolute favourite bronzer. It went on so smoothly, looked like a perfect shade for my skintone and blended really nicely. This bronzer is honestly massive so it didn’t matter how big of a brush I used, everything worked. Honestly, for FOUR pounds, this product is amazing. If you’ve got a similar, fair, skin tone like me, definitely check this out!

Time for some shimmer! When I saw this on the Superdrug website I was blown away. It looked so shimmery and golden and basically perfection, so I knew I had to have it. It only cost £3 so I couldn’t really say no. This is the MUA Undress Your Skin Shimmer Highlighter in the shade ‘Golden Scintillation’. It claims to be a lightweight powder that transforms your complexion with luminescent shimmer and I’d say that’s completely true.

When I opened it, it was everything I ever expected. Super shimmery, shiny and the most gorgeous golden shade. I surely got my hopes up but luckily, this highlighter impressed me like I had hoped! All it took was ONE swipe and my cheekbones were already poppin’! This little product honestly transforms you into a glowy golden goddess and I am so happy about it. It is super pigmented and gives that kind of wet glowy look, which I think is GORGEOUS. I think this would look even better with a tan, but even if you’re a Snow White like me, this is an incredible highlighter and you need it in your life.

Of course I took some swatches for you guys so you could see HOW AMAZING these are in action. I also applied them today when I did my make-up and took some pictures to show you them on. I used the highlighter on my cheekbones, cupids bone and down my nose & the bronzer below my cheekbones, on my jawline and across my forehead. Honestly, pictures don’t even do these products justice but I tried my best!
